Born from a love of great pastry, Dorset Pastry is a family-run business which began in the heart of every home – the kitchen.

 

Our STORY

A LOVE FOR GREAT PASTRY

Our family-run Dorset Pastry business was founded by mother and matriarch Moira Blake back in in 2001.  Moira saw a gap in the market after searching for high quality, all butter puff pastry and finding none on shelves, and certainly nothing close to organic pastry.  Fast forward 20+ years and Dorset Pastry is today the first producer of Organic Puff Pastry in the world.  

To launch Dorset Pastry, Moira spent many happy months researching the history of puff pastry and the science behind it, and began developing and refining a recipe that was a step above the rest.  Moira perfected a natural and pure puff pastry that tasted like it was homemade – perfect for use in kitchens large and small.      

Dorset Pastry has had a focus on sustainability and organic produce from the start.  Early on the business incorporated the ideology of the Slow Food Movement and nowadays is also SALSA and Soil Association certified.  The team uses British ingredients wherever possible, with no preservatives or additives throughout.

In addition to Organic Puff Pastry, the brand also produces Organic Shortcrust and Sweet Shortcrust as well as a non-organic, pure range which uses the same traditional methods so that quality is never compromised.  Dorset Pastry can also manufacture bespoke products, tailored to the needs of the chef/kitchen/business.   

Over the years Dorset Pastry has picked up accolades and a string of national awards and can be found in the top professional and home kitchens across the country.
